

This position’s assignments relate to development and implementation of the hazard mitigation program’s policies, plans and procedures. This is an advanced position that includes planning, evaluating, monitoring, and managing federally funded grant projects based on results of disaster declarations.

This position reports to the Community Program Manager of the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP). Reviews submitted program application/scope of works for project feasibility, implementation strategies, and overall project management in conformance with federal criteria. Duties and responsibilities include planning, evaluating, monitoring, and managing federally funded grant projects based on results of disaster declarations. This position reports to the Community Program Manager. This is a professional position located in the Orlando-based office of the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) in the Division of Emergency Management.

This position will assist the Operations Section, State Watch Office (SWO), and State Emergency Response Team (SERT) Coordinator with the development of various policies, plans, and procedures and ensure proper documentation relating to improving disaster response capabilities, consequence management, team readiness, and contingency planning. Incumbent serves as the Operational Planning Officer within the Bureau of Response. This position serves as the Bureau of Response’s Financial Officer, responsible for the management and support of the Bureau’s financial operations to include budgetary cost projects, analyses and the support of resources procurements, mutual aid packet evaluations, and contractual services of the State Emergency Response Team (SERT). This would include conducting training on Recovery programs as determined necessary.
